There has been so many blogs and sites dedicated to cute fuzzy animals, so I felt that there needs to be a place where you can appreciate the other kinds of animals in the world, such as snakes, spiders and other creepy crawly animals.
My inspiration for the design of the site came from those old commercials I use to watch as a kid for toys and stuff of bugs and gross slimy things that that you use to scare your family. I used bright colors of blue and green to represent land and water creatures. I used images of fangs and other things, which I made using Adobe Illustrator to give it a kind of cartoony look to it, but not kiddy. I was going to use mostly green colors but I decided to go with more blue because I was worried it would look more of a planet site then an animal site.
Now as a result we get a place where animal enthusiasts can appreciate the beauty of nature despite what people may think of these animals.
The idea behind this project was to make a new, interesting approach to searching for movies to watch.
I started off with an idea of searching for a movie based on your mood. Then later I came up with an idea of searching for a movie based on your problems. So I chose a psychiatrist to represent the site and be the one giving the movie recommendations.
In this website you can choose from a list of possible problems you may have, then the Cinema Doctor gives his diagnose of what you should watch and the reason for it. Mind you that the advice is not meant to be taken seriously, just as a joke, though the movies that are recommended are men tot be taken seriously.
I was planning to make the site mostly in flash, but I decided to go with just JavaScript because it seemed more practical to use.
The result is you get an entertaining way to search for a movie when you’re bored.
The NSDRC is a nonprofit organization for disabled people. There website has been up for a while, but was not very good and needed a better design and made more user friendly
There were many changes to the site, such as an easier to understand navigation and large links and text so people that are visually impaired can see. Wordpress was insulted on the site so that the people running the site could easily update the news section on the site.
The team and myself made these changes possible.
The result was NSDRC got a new website that’s ease to use and easy on the eyes.
